#12: One Quarter Away

Posted: March 19, 2009 in Uncategorized

When I finished my last final of the Winter Quarter, I seriously gave a yell that shook the walls of my house… I yelled “I’m done”!!! as I pressed the SEND key on my email to send my last paper of the quarter.  I was applauded from upstairs from both my mother and my awesome sister, Mingyung, who shouted back, “YEA-UH!” and clapped her incredibly small hands out.  I felt gooooood.

I won’t be getting much of a Spring Break since I have to tutor and to still work at my internship at Trinity, but I don’t think that’s why I’m so happy..  I’m happy because when I thought about it, I have 10 more weeks of school left and I will be graduating in really hot sticky weather with my masters degree from the University of Chicago.  Man. I can almost TASTE that sweet victory.  Seriously.

I’ve decided to take the summer off (thanks to all who voted) and chill, maybe go someplace, before looking for a job and working the rest of my life with no real summer break. ha! I’m not exactly sure what I’ll be doing yet – it’s a blessing and a curse to have so many different options, but yeah, the summer off sounds REAL good to me.  Hopefully, it’ll all get straightened out a bit once the summer is over. SIGH.

So, I am excited to graduate and for the summer.  I have about 10 weeks of classes left when the Spring Quarter begins (1st week of April).  Watch for the countdown!

I leave you with this: a video of Tim Tebow’s 2007 Heisman win and his awesome priorities in life.  It’s not like I follow college football or anything, but I was compelled, challenged, and inspired by the way he used all the opportunities and gifts he has for the glory of God.  I may never be in the public spotlight like this guy, but man, I do hope that the gifts and opportunities I have will honor God.
